The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival gets underway this weekend for its 61st year, giving visitors the perfect opportunity to savour award-winning wines, delight in local cuisine and enjoy a fabulous line-up of live entertainment.
Along with the great food and wine, the heart of the festival can be found in historic Montebello Park located in downtown St. Catharines today and next Saturday as well. Here local chefs will provide cuisine at one or two tokens per taster-sized portion, while VQA wines can be purchased by the sample, glass or bottle.
Another option is the Discovery Pass, which gives visitors the opportunity to explore wine and culinary pairings at over 30 wineries. Discovery Passes can be obtained from any of the participating wineries throughout the region. The cheers of the midway, the aromas of frying food and cotton candy and the thrill of a demolition derby may be some of the memories you cherish from Fall Fairs while growing up in Ontario.
